Guatemala Summer Mission Trip: June 1-8

Trip Focus:

Construction, Children’s Ministry & Widow Care

Come join us as we journey to Chichicastenango, Guatemala, to serve the Quiche people—a vibrant community in the mountain regions where Oak Hills Church has developed a long and meaningful relationship. We will work alongside our local partner, Missions Frontier, an organization that collaborates with area pastors on essential relief and development projects.

Over the course of the week, we will travel to various rural villages, constructing village homes for Quiche widows and families in need, addressing critical housing challenges. Each day, we’ll also connect with community members, sharing the hope of Jesus with children and adults through Biblical dramas, worship, crafts, and activities. Additionally, we will focus on Widow Outreach as part of our mission. No matter what your talents and skills may be, you can be used on this trip!

On our rest day we will be able to explore the largest open-air market in Latin America, where you’ll experience the rich culture and craftsmanship of Guatemala firsthand. It will be a chance to shop for unique items, bless the local vendors, and take in the colorful atmosphere of this vibrant marketplace.

Key Details:

• Lodging: Casa Del Rey Hotel, which offers mountain views and a welcoming atmosphere to rest at the end of a day of service. Rooms are double or triple occupancy and include private baths, hot showers, and a cozy sitting area with a fireplace.
• Meals: Buffet-style breakfast and dinners served at the hotel with soup, salad, main course, and dessert, providing time for fellowship with your team each evening.
• Preparation Meetings: The team will meet several times before departure to build unity, understand the culture, and coordinate ministry plans.

Trip Cost:

$2,400

This all-inclusive cost covers meals, lodging, transportation, insurance, interpreters, sightseeing, supplies, and airfare, all organized by Oak Hills Church.

When considering the cost of the trip, we encourage all participants to fundraise to make this mission possible. Oak Hills Church will provide a fundraising platform and guidance on effective ways to raise support. Together, we’ll make it happen!
